Mei Line, textile
Mei Line, Provence, was born out of a lasting love affair with fabrics, especially vintage linen. Antique linen from « trousseaux », the stack of linen women used to embroider with their initials before getting married, are found in flea markets, brocantes and auction houses throughout France. I have been up cycling them for a while, using them from table cloth to curtains.
After discovering the endless creative world of natural dye with vegetal pigments, and taking a course at Couleur Garance, I started experimenting on my collection and created table linen, bathrobes, handbags… Patterns are created through block print and shibori.
Following requests from friends and family, I am taking this step further and am in the process of opening an on-line shop. For more details, please visit: meiline.fr
