A beautiful discovery, in a perched village of Crete, the house and studio of Manousos Chalkiada. A fabulous ceramist, but also a painter and photographer. And such a nice, welcoming person :)!
Some shots of his studio:
And of course we couldn’t leave empty handed… The Cretan ceramics found their place with ease in our Provencal surrounding!
Here, the piece discusses with Alexandre Motte’s jug and bowl, all around the water theme. The large terracotta jars below come from a flea market and where bought years ago. it turns out that they originate from Crete, and are called Pithoi, we saw some huge ones while visiting Knossos Palace. Mediterranean culture goes full circle!
And here the ceramic ballons play with the black and white photograph taken in La Havana by my husband, a photographer in his own right, although not professional.
